I compressed the image and reduced number of colors from 16 million to only 64 and it still looks very nice. The file size is three times lower than the original file.

I compressed the image and reduced number of colors from 16 million to 64 and it still looks nice too but we can discover that there are missing colors. The image file is bigger than the image with dithering because more colors are used.

I compressed the image and reduced number of colors from 16 million to 128 and it still looks nice but we can discover that there are missing colors on the sky. Probably sky has a lot of different shades of blue. The image file is bigger than the image with dithering because more colors are used.

I compressed the image from 16 million number of colors to only 64 colors and it still looks very nice. The file is three times smaller than the original file.

I compressed the image and reduced number of colors from 16 million to 256 because there is a lot of blue color (the sky covers more than 60% of the image) and the image much worse. The image file is bigger than the image with dithering because more shades are used.

Conclusion:

If we set less colors there will be more small dots in the image (with dithering) and less shades of colors (without dithering).

In the image compressed without dithering there will not be much difference between images with 64 or 128 or even 256 colors.

Result:

It is better to use compressing with dithering because of less size and better quality.

Computer Architecture - On Tuesday's Lab lesson we were finishing lab sheets exercises. On the lecture lessons we were doing revision.

Statistical Calculations - On a lab lesson we had assignment worth 15 %. On the lecture lessons still we were doing some exercises with Time Series Graph, Seasonal Index and Moving Average.

Creativity Innovation & Teamwork - We finished our Project Folder. In friday we had presentation and I think we did very well.

Networking Fundamentals - On the lecture lessons we were doing exercises from past exam papers. On lab lesson we had final cisco exam and wireshark assessment.

Programming Fundamentals - We had 2-hours last Programming Assesment in C128 in monday.

Algorithmic Problem Solving - We had an 2-hours last Alice Assessment in IT 2.2 in friday.

Computer Architecture - On Tuesday's Lab lesson we were finishing exercises with Flip Flops. On the lecture lessons we were learning about Information Systems.

Statistical Calculations - On a lab lesson we are still using MiniTab (we were doing exercises with Time Series). On the lecture lessons still we were doing some exercises with Time Series Graph, Seasonal Index and Moving Average.

Creativity Innovation & Teamwork - I finished evaulation of my clues for Team Project. Everything is going well at the moment.

Networking Fundamentals - We were working with Switch and Switch MAC Table still on the virtual machine. On the lecture lessons we were doing exercises from past exam papers.

Programming Fundamentals - We are still programming in Visual Basic Express 2005. We were doing some exercises with List Boxes.

Computer Architecture - On Tuesday's Lab lesson we were doing some Adders (Half-Adder and Full-Adder) exercises. On the lecture lessons we learnt a little bit about Adders, Sum of Products and Karnaugh Maps.

Creativity Innovation & Teamwork - We got a new assignment to do in groups. This assignment is worth 70% of the overall CIT mark. It's very important so we have to do this very good. We have 4 weeks to do this. Our clue for Treasure Hunt is: "The worlds only five sided flag". We divided it to 5 parts (5 letters parts) so each member of the team have to do 10 clues (2 clues for 1 letter).

Statistical Calculations - On a lab lesson we are still using MiniTab. On the lecture lessons our lecturer gave us new handout (Regression And Correlation). We were doing some exercises with Two Variable Linear Regression & Correlation and Scatter Diagram

Networking Fundamentals - We were working with IP and MAC's Adresses still on the virtual machine. On the lecture lessons we were learning about Subnetting.

Programming Fundamentals - We are still programming in Visual Basic Express 2005. We learnt how to use While Loop.

Algorithmic Problem Solving - We are still programming in Alice. We were doing some exercises from notes.cit.ie and at last we got marks for the Alice Assessment (I got 96% )

Computer Architecture - On Tuesday's Lab lesson we were starting Basic Logic Gates exercises. On the lecture lessons we learnt a little bit about Boolean Algebra (AND, OR, EXOR etc. gates).

Statistical Calculations - On a lab lesson we are still using MiniTab. On the lecture lessons we were doing some exercises with Mean, Median, Mode Values, Skewness and Standard Deviation.

Networking Fundamentals - On a lab lesson we were still using the virtual machine. We were working with Wireshark program and tracert command. On the lecture lessons were learning about Classful Adressing (Subnet Masks).

Programming Fundamentals - We are still programming in Visual Basic Express 2005. We learnt how to use radio buttons and check boxes and how to code them in VB.

Algorithmic Problem Solving - We are still programming in Alice. We were doing some exercises from notes.cit.ie.

Computer Architecture - On Tuesday's Lab lesson we were finishing our homeworks. On the lecture lessons we were learning about Hamming codes.

Creativity Innovation & Teamwork - 16th of October was the deadline of our assignment (CV and cover letter). Mary gave us new assignment (treasure hunt).

Statistical Calculations - On a lab lesson we are still using MiniTab. On the lecture lesson we were doing some exercises with Measures of Location and Measures of Dispersion.

Networking Fundamentals - On a lab lesson still we were using the virtual machine. We were working with Wireshark program and ping command. On the lecture lessons we learnt a little bit about Network Layer in OSI Model

Programming Fundamentals - We are still programming in Visual Basic Express. We learnt new code, error handling code - Try...Catch exception (to check errors).

Algorithmic Problem Solving - We are still programming in Alice. We had an 1-hour Alice Assessment in IT 2.2.

Computer Architecture - On a Lab lesson we were doing more exercises with number systems. On the lecture lessons Denis was saying about BCD codes and Grey's codes.

Creativity Innovation & Teamwork - We were still writing CV and cover letter. I had finished CV and start to writing cover letter for dell company. On Friday's lecture lesson we were working in groups (Lost at Sea game)

Statistical Calculations - On a lab lesson we are still using MiniTab. On the lecture lesson our lecturer gave new handout (Topic 2). We learnt how to measure location (Median, Mode, Mean). We were doing some exercises from topic 2.

Networking Fundamentals - On the lecture lessons we learnt a little bit about Trasnsport Layer in OSI Model. On a lab lesson we were using virtual machine. We were working with program called Wireshark.

Programming Fundamentals - We are still programming in Visual Basic Express. We learnt new method If...ElseIf. On the lab lessons we were doing some exercises from elearning.cit.ie

Algorithmic Problem Solving - We are still programming in Alice. We were doing some exercises and we have learnt how to make new parameter in method.

Third Week (28.09.2009 - 02.10.2009)

Computer Architecture - On Tuesday's Lab lesson we were doing some exercises (converting positive and negative decimal numbers to binary in ones and twos complement). On the lecture lessons Denis was saying about converting fractions to binary, fixed and floating point representation.

Creativity Innovation & Teamwork - We have to write CV and cover letter for one of the IT company in Ireland. That is our first assignment to do. I had downloaded few CV and cover letter templates and I found some IT companies. Now I have to choose which template I will use and to which company I will send CV.

Statistical Calculations - On a lab lesson we are still using MiniTab. On the lecture lesson we learnt some terminology to do with Frequency Distribution (class limits, class boundaries , class interval and class mark). We were doing some exercises with Cumulative Frequency Polygon.

Networking Fundamentals - On a lab lesson we were working on the virtual machine (it is a software implementation of a machine that executes programs like a physical machine). We were working in pairs and building small network between two workstations.

Programming Fundamentals - We are still programming in Visual Basic Express. We learnt what is decision structure (allows a program to have more than one path of execution) and new method If...Then.

Algorithmic Problem Solving - We are still programming in Alice. We were doing some exercises and we have learnt how to make new method.

Second Week (21.09.2009 - 25.09.2009)

We did a little bit more work than in the last week.
I will write below some information about each module.

Computer Architecture - We were learning about binary, decimal and hexadecimal numbers and how to convert binary to decimal, decimal to hexadecimal etc., one's complement and two's Complement. We have assignments and we have 2 or 3 weeks to do this.

Creativity Innovation & Teamwork - The lecturer was saying about erasmus project and elective modules.

Statistical Calculations - We were learning about graphical representation of data, frequency polygon and cumulative frequency polygon. We were doing some exercises with stem and leaf and frequency diagram.

Networking Fundamentals - We were learning how to install servers, routers and switches and how to connect them to computer. We are using packet tracer program to create a network.

Programming Fundamentals - We are still programming in Visual Basic Express. We have learnt new methods, data types (Integer, Double, String) and how to declare constans number. We were doing some programs (Volume Calculator).

Algorithmic Problem Solving - We are still programming in Alice. We had learnt how to make new variable (Number, Boolean) and we made world with kangaroo in it.

First week (14.09.2009 - 18.09.2009)

First week in Cork Institute of Technology passed very quickly. All modules on the start seems to be very easy but appearances are misleading. All modules are in English language of course so I must work harder than the other students. First year will be the hardest but if I'll pass later years will be easy :)
Now I'll write a little about my past. Before CIT I attended to Computing Secondary School in Poland and I know a little bit about computer architecture, programming in VB and C++ etc.
